About the Author and Podcast Host
American Carl Mesecher was born in Peoria, Illinois but has spent most of his life in Nebraska and Colorado. He describes himself as a popular music history and chart enthusiast. During his high school years in Burlington, Colorado, Carl purchased his first chart book and listened to Casey Kasem’s weekly countdown program American Top 40 on the radio. He also wrote articles about music charts, concerts, the Grammy Awards and movies for his high school newspaper The Broadcaster.
Carl attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and was the music director for the college radio station, KRNU. He also hosted a weekly countdown show on KRNU highlighting the top 10 songs in Radio and Records and the top 10 albums in Lincoln. In addition to his passion for music history and charts, Carl enjoys hiking in the Colorado mountains.
